The world report bluefish was caught on Jan. 1, 1972, by James Hussey. Hussey was fishing at Hatteras Inlet in North Carolina, trolling plastic eels when a big bluefish slammed his line. Chesapeake Division
On October 18, 1979, John Davidson landed the state-record bluefish beneath Maryland’s Chesapeake Division whereas fishing off of Queen Anne Marina. Davidson’s fish weighed 22 kilos. Then, on Could 31, 1986, Davidson’s report was tied by Ronald Raffo who caught a 22-pound bluefish off of Hackett’s Level. Later, on Could 8, 1991, the Chesapeake Division report was tied once more by Thomas R. Talbott who was fishing off Chesapeake Seashore.
Massachusetts
Louis Gordon caught the Massachusetts state report on September 11, 1982. Gordon was fishing at Graves Mild, the outermost island in Boston Harbor. Gordon’s blue formally weighed 27 kilos and 4 ounces.
New Hampshire
Henry Krook from Durham caught the New Hampshire report on August 23, 1975. Krook was fishing in Nice Bay when he landed his 21 pound, 39-inch bluefish.
New Jersey
The New Jersey state report bluefish was caught in 1997 by Roger Katorsky. He was fishing at 5 Fathom Financial institution, which is about 15 miles from Cape Could. The shoal there may be identified for being a go-to bluefish hang-out. Katorsky’s blue weighed in at 27 kilos and 1 ounce.
New York
